Nowadays, the customization of products is demanding flexible processes in manufacturing. In order to achieve such a customization, faster engineering design processes and automated production processes are required. In this context, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are playing an important role, especially to bridge the gap between engineering and production processes. On the one hand, ICT-enabled solutions are facilitating the leverage of production data with engineering tools. On the other hand, ICT-enabled solutions are making engineering tools available across the whole value chain. In this talk, we will address different ICT-enabled solutions, focusing on boosting the engineering and production processes.
